“I trust we have laid the foundation of [a] university … where any person can find instruction in any study.”, Ezra Cornell, Oct. 7th, 1868
The Department of Neurobiology and Behavior (NBB) is deeply committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive community. We believe that the pursuit of knowledge flourishes in environments that welcome a full spectrum of perspectives and experiences. Therefore, we are dedicated not only to proactively training the next generation of leaders and role models in neurobiology and behavior, but also to ensuring a safe, productive, and equitable environment for everyone in our department.
To realize these goals, we must actively listen to one another, hold ourselves accountable to our shared values, and take responsibility for demonstrating our commitment through intentional actions and regular self-assessment. While we recognize that there is still much work to be done, we remain steadfast in our belief that the positive change we strive for is both necessary and worth our strongest efforts.
